- THE ESSENCE OF SHALAKAA: Painting is as beautiful an expression as laughter…..both find their roots in absolute honesty. And as I speak about it I can only think of ‘life’…. Coz that’s exactly what a painting does, adds life to a portrait. Or to put it simply….a painting to a portrait is just what are eyes to human beings or wings to birds!!! And that’s what I try to do through this blog, add little more eyes to the portrait, give it one more wings to fly…. As for the title, it is very special. Shalakaa is a name gifted to me by my Grandmother. A name with which I started taking Drawing and Painting classes from the year 2006. A name which gave me immense confidence and a name which means….A stroke of art or a unique creation. And with such unique creations I try to express myself in this blog!!!
